Changes are afoot at the Emirates
Arsenal are reportedly ‘on the brink’ of completing a deal to make former player and current Brazil team co-ordinator Edu their new technical director.
There have been several changes since Arsene Wenger left the club back in 2018.
Former Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis also left the Gunners last year for AC Milan.
As well Gazidis, former head of recruitment Sven Mislintat lasted just 14 months at Arsenal.
Now, there’s set to be even more change this summer with the appointment of a technical director.
Though, Arsenal are now ‘on the brink’ of appointing a new technical director.
Arsenal’s technical director search nearly over
According to football.london, Arsenal’s search for a technical director is nearly over ‘with the club on the brink of completing the appointment of former player Edu.’
They claim that ‘negotiations over the terms of Edu’s appointment have progressed significantly in recent weeks and are now near completion, though an announcement of his appointment will likely not come until Brazil’s participation in the Copa America is over.’
Edu is currently the national team co-ordinator for Brazil.
Their Copa America campaign is set to get underway during the early hours of Saturday morning.
If Brazil were to make the final of the tournament, Arsenal may have to wait until July 8th to appoint him.
