Barcelona have confirmed on Monday that Leo Messi is injured.
Messi, who competed for Argentina at the Copa America this summer, has only just returned to training at La Masia.
However, as a result of his latest injury, Messi will miss Barca’s upcoming tour in America.

Barcelona detail Messi’s injury
Barcelona have outlined the nature of Messi’s injury on their website:
First team player Leo Messi, who had returned from his summer break for training on Monday, withdrew from the session due to discomfort in his right leg. Tests carried out have diagnosed a Grade 1 calf strain for the Argentine.
Messi will remain in Barcelona and will now not travel to the USA for the club’s tour. His availability to come back to action will be dictated by his recovery from the injury.
It’s unclear how Messi sustained his injury.
It’s also unclear when Messi is likely to be back to full health.
Barcelona’s America tour details
Barcelona head to America on Monday for pre-season.
The La Liga champions have two friendlies lined-up.
Barcelona will take on Napoli on August 7 in Miami.
Three days later, on August 19, the Catalans will again face off against Napoli in Michigan.
Barcelona start the new Spanish league season on August 16 with an away trip to Athletic Bilbao.
Ernesto Valverde’s first home match of the La Liga season will be against Real Betis on August 25.
