Where will Neymar end up this season?

Spanish journalist Guillem Balagué has given an update on both Real Madrid and Barcelona’s pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar.

The Brazilian has been in the headlines for a number of weeks now.

It was claimed back in July by Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu that Neymar wanted to leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

However, he also admitted that PSG doesn’t want to let him go.

Since then, rumours have only escalated.

PSG sporting director Leonardo recently claimed that ‘Talks are more advanced than before, but no agreement.’

There’s also been talk of swap deals involving Real Madrid and Barcelona.

It’s been reported that Paris Saint-Germain wanted Luka Modric and money from Real Madrid for Neymar.

Meanwhile, there’s been talk of Philippe Coutinho being included in Barcelona’s deal for the Brazilian.

Now, Spanish journalist Guillem Balagué has an update.

Real Madrid and Barcelona both ‘in the equation’

According to the La Liga reporter on Twitter, both Real Madrid and Barcelona are still in the frame to sign Neymar.

He claims that Barcelona currently have offered €100m and Coutinho, but that deal was not accepted.

Real Madrid have also made an offer for Neymar, which includes Gareth Bale, James Rodriguez and cash.

In this case, PSG want different players included in the deal.

Interestingly, Balagué reveals that PSG’s preference is actually to sell to Real Madrid, despite both clubs being in the frame.

Finally, Balagué claims that Neymar does not want to return to the Paris side this summer, with the Brazilian having seemingly not returned to PSG yet.

It looks as though this transfer saga could go all the way up to deadline day.
