Tottenham’s Christian Eriksen tipped for Madrid move
Danish playmaker Christian Eriksen was left on the Tottenham bench on Saturday for the match against Aston Villa.
Lucas Moura and Erik Lamela started in the attacking midfield roles for Spurs.
However, Eriksen confirmed his importance to the Lillywhites after he came off the bench in the second half.
When the Dane was introduced, Villa were 1-0 up.
Soon afterwards, however, a corner from Eriksen resulted in Tanguy Ndombele’s equaliser.
Harry Kane then scored twice to win the match.

So will Eriksen stay at Tottenham for the 2019-20 season?
That remains up in the air, with Spanish paper AS reporting on Sunday that Eriksen remains in the crosshairs of the two Madrid clubs.
AS note that while Eriksen wants to join Real Madrid, Los Blancos seem to consider Eriksen as their back-up option.
Instead, Real are prioritising a move for Ajax’s Donny Van de Beek instead.
As a result, AS believe Eriksen could end up signing for Atletico Madrid.
Of course, Kieran Trippier has already swapped Spurs for Atletico this summer.
Donny Van de Beek reveals Real transfer latest
Ajax won 5-0 against Emmen on Saturday in the Dutch top flight.
During the game, Ajax fans chanted for Van de Beek to sign a contract extension at the club.
After the match, midfielder Donny Van de Beek talked openly about links to Real Madrid. He revealed the following:
I really can’t tell you (if I’m joining Real Madrid.) I also want clarity.
Of course, you hear that (the song from the fans). I also like it very much, it is better than they sing: Donny f*ck off, f*ck off.
Even the South Americans in our team know the words! They sing along in the dressing room.
I would lie if I said that I am not thinking about my future, but I am happy that I can perform on the field.
Last week I scored against Vitesse and now again against Emmen. Hopefully I can be important again on Tuesday against PAOK.
According to Telegraaf, Van De Beek could play his last game for Ajax on Tuesday night in the Champions League qualifier against PAOK.
After that game, the Dutch international could sign for Real Madrid.
